All electronic items which includes the Nintendo Switch must be returned within 30 days of purchase for refund or exchange with receipt. If you used Target Debit Card Or Credit card you receive an additional 30 days for a total of 60 days to return the Switch.

How Do Video Game Returns Work At Target?
- Open video games cannot be returned but can be exchanged in store for the same title, for the same or different video game platform
- Items that are opened or damaged without a receipt can be denied a refund or exchange, New Jersey stores will continue to observe state-ordered return restrictions.
- All electronics and entertainment items must be returned within 30 days for a refund or exchange. For these items purchased between 11/1-12/25, the 30-day refund period will start on 12/26.
How Target Pays Refunds
Similar to how GameStop issues refunds, your refund will automatically go into the original form of the payment method, if you used different forms of payment like cash and debit card, your refund could be issued across all payment methods.
Refunds to a Target RedCard will take 1-2 days, refunds to a third party credit card 1-3 days, it can take 5 business days to inspect and process items returned to Targets Online Return Center before refunds can be processed

Can You Return A Video Game To Target Without A Receipt?
Target official policy states electronics like a video game without a receipt cannot be returned and can only be exchanged for another product, some stores allow a merchandise return card only used for in-store credit even without a receipt.
It all depends on the store and the people working there, I read r/Target and found different answers, here is what reddit user said
For the most part we won’t return any electronics without a receipt. I will occasionally make exceptions on video games, movies, or cables (i.e. HDMI), or sometimes say the guest can exchange it for another movie/game.

Whilst another user said if you don’t have any form of receipt or barcode you are only entitled to exchange and cannot use the store card, so it will vary from target to target check a store near you to see for yourself.
Electronics should not be returned to a Merch Card unless your store says otherwise. Unopened or not, no receipt or card means an exchange.
