Is Xbox Game Pass Shareable? (How To Share Gamepass)

Xbox Gamepass is one of the best deals in gaming, but can you share it with friends and family? It might seem straightforward but it’s a little more complicated.

Gamepass itself does not share, but any games downloaded from game pass do, so the account with Gamepass must download the games first for them to be shared across accounts.

It’s a little confusing but just make sure you download all the game you want to share, I will explain how to game share on Xbox, does game share work across profiles and if you can game share PC Gamepass and EA access, read on to find out!

How to Gameshare on Xbox One

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller and scroll to the “sign-in” tab
  2. Select the ‘Add new’ option
  3. Either login with your friends/family members Microsoft account using an email address or phone & password they use to sign in or have them do it.
  4. Review the privacy statement and select ‘next’ then set up your preferences
  5. Use the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide then return to the home screen.
  6. Scroll left from home and select your friends Gamertag and click ‘sign in

Can You Get Banned from Xbox for Game Sharing?

Game sharing with your friends & family is encouraged by Microsoft , the only way you can get banned for game sharing is if you downloaded an illegal game not from Microsofts server

However, there is something that can get you banned from Xbox for Game Sharing. According to Microsoft, if the game you download from another account was originally downloaded from a server other than Microsoft’s, that would be an illegal download and could get you banned for game sharing. 

Game keys site like CD keys are perfectly legitimate but you need to be careful with sites like G2A as unlike CD Keys G2A is a marketplace where ANYONE can buy game keys, so be careful what you buy.

Even though game sharing is allowed with trusted people, you should be careful with who you share your gaming libraries with. You can end up losing your account to those so-called ‘friends’ and might be a victim of fraud, depriving you of all of the games that you have purchased over the years.

Does Xbox Game Pass Work On All Profiles?

Any profile on the home Xbox that has Gamepass has access to the same games and subscriptions like Gamepass if the Xbox is designated as the home Xbox. All subscriptions on one account transfer over to the other accounts on the same home Xbox.

Can My Child Use My Xbox Game Pass?

Make your Xbox your home Xbox, now if your child has an account on your Xbox all games and subscriptions like Gamepass will transfer over to all other accounts on the same Xbox.

Can You Gameshare PC Gamepass?

PC Gamepass can be shared if the account which has Gamepass is logged into the windows store, you can play on as many PCs, or different accounts as you can like so.
